Welp. Blaugust Was a Flop
But that's OK! It is now officially September and although I had every good intention of posting all August, I only managed to do it once. However, luckily for me, I wrote down the list of topics I was going to use to blog daily in August so I can dive right in this month without missing a beat. Another bit of luck? This week my husband and I are taking a staycation which means a full week without my 9-5. Que the ruckus cheering!
While we have a jammed packed date and activity schedule, we are also looking forward to taking the time to focus on our hobbies that we usually have to put to the side during the work week. For me that means writing and tending to my very neglected blog. I'm looking forward to everything I've got listed to write about, including everything I learned from planning a wedding in less than a year, my plans for staying organized next year, and my updated favorite tools to use list.
And more!
In general I'm looking forward to finding my stride as a writer again. Thanks to the influence of The Internet, I have allowed myself to fall into the comparison trap that often swallows me up and very rarely craps me back out. But as I creep closer to thirty, which allegedly is the start of the decade where I am supposed to be the most assured I have ever been, I'm feeling the urge to lean away from the need to do things to be seen. I'm actually feeling very unbothered by the prospect of chattering into the void if it means I'm proud of everything I'm putting out. So we'll see how far that new attitude carries me.
In the meantime, if you're interested, feel free to stick around and see what I get up to as I start to get out of my own way. I'll be back this week with my thoughts on this year's "planner season" and the Hobonichi freak-out that seems to catch me by surprise every year. I also plan on dropping the first half of my wedding notes(I've got a ton) with hopes of helping other current or future brides who are overwhelmed with the process. I've also got a recap of all the internet I gulped up last month and a few other highlights from an August that seemed to go by in a flash. Stay tuned!
