I am always trying new apps or tools for something, so it only seemed right to keep a dedicated page to all the tools I've tried, loved, and actually use on a daily basis. I'd like to think of this as my audition to be cool enough to get featured in Installer one day.
Digital
Disclaimer: I am an Apple user, so most of my recommendations are for iOS apps.
Plinky - I stumbled upon this link saver sometime in October of 2024. It only took me a day to sign up for the premium version which is only $4.26 a month. iOS only
Day One Journal - I tried to stray away after my yearly subscription expired, but it turns out I can't go a day without telling my virtual notebooks how I feel and what I ate.
Chronicling - I was a statistician in past life so I absolutely love any app that can help me keep track of streaks and show me how I did with a pretty chart. iOS only
FocusPomo - A cute focus timer that you can use to keep track of the time you spend doing anything. It also gives you the ability see what your focusing on on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Once again, I love a good stat.
iOS only
Voicenotes - I like to talk to myself and before this app, some of my best moments went to die on my native voice memos app. Now with Voicenotes I can create summaries and accurate transcriptions of my thoughts. It's been a life saver for brainstorming big ideas before putting them on paper.
Supernotes - This one is still new to me, but I'm liking it so far. I'm hoping to use it as my digital commonplace journal.
Cooked - I hate how cluttered online websites can be. This app not only gets that, it also breaks down how to make the recipe and you can add them from all over the internet. Whether you got them from TikTok or a website, they can all be saved.
Analogue
I have a very intimate relationship with the stationary aisle of any store and JetPens.com
Favorite Pens:
Pilot G6 Gel Pen - It's refillable, it has a 0.7 tip, and a built in grip. It completes me.
Zebra Sarasa Clip Gel Pen - A close second to my pilot. Because it comes in so many great colors, I like to underline stuff with it.
Zebra Mildliner Double-Sided Highlighters - I love these because they don't bleed through and have a sharp point on the other side if I want to circle or box in a note.
Favorite Notebooks:
Greenroom Notebooks - It really stinks that the only place you can get these are Target or Amazon, but they really are some of my favorite notebooks. Not to mention they're super affordable.
Travelers Notebook Passport Size - They're tiny and I can fill one up in under a month.
Hobonichi A6 - Currently using a A6 Hobonich from last year as a commomplace book. Right now, all I've got in it is a running TBR list and book notes. If you are interested in commonplace journaling with a hobonichi specially, check out this article.
